This is an authentic Okiek Quiver.  It is made of a hollowed piece of wood with hand twisted fiber cordage covered with mud and decorated with porqupine quills.  The covers for the top and bottom and the strap are made of leather. 

The Okiek live in the last remaining expanse of forest in Kenya, the Mau forest. Many still live traditionally and fear the loss of their culture as the Mau forest shrinks and they lose their lands. 

There are not many of this type of quiver to be found.  It measures 27"long and 2 1/4' in diameter.
