Item: Soapstone Fun Figure
This beautiful 8 inch soapstone figure is carved from natural soapstone that is quarried from a small town near Kisii, Kenya. The natural soapstone color varies from pure white, cream and rose, to a charcoal gray. Richard Juma travels from Nakuru to Kisii to purchase roughly shaped soapstone figures. He then returns to Nakuru and with Elijah and Lucy, finishes carving, sanding, applying dye, and polishing figures such as this one.
