Item: Soapstone Cross

Soapstone is quarried in Tabaka, Kenya and rough cut into various shapes. Soapstone finishers purchase the rough cut stone forms, finish carving them, smooth and polish. This cross has been dyed with a fading mahogany dye. As the cross ages the dye deepens and mellows while following the grain of the original stone.

This cross is 6 1/2" high.
