These hearts are 3" at the broadest point and hand carved of Kisii Soapstone.  The natural stone varies in color from cream, smoke, and tan to rose. The hearts are hand carved, smoothed with water and sandpaper, then dyed. After the base coat of dye a design is drawn on the stone.  The design is then etched wtih a small knife to reveal the creamy stone beneath and complete the design.

Each of these eggs has the acacia tree on one side.  The other side has a surprise African animal!!!
