Button is a soapstone cat.  His beginnings were in Tabaka, Kenya near Kisii where the stone ix hand chipped from the quarry. It is carried by wheelbarrow to the workshop. There the carvers rough cut the shape.

Charles Ombesa travels to western Kenya to purchase the rought cut stone and carry if back to Nairobi where the fine carving and snading is completed.  The stone is then dyed, and etched to create an individual piece. 

Button is 6" tall and polished to a high sheen and is now ready for you.
