Surprise is a seed bead necklace from Peru. 

The woman collect the seeds in season, dry them and use a needle to force a small hole in each.  Then they sit in the heat of the day and string them to create these lovely necklaces.

This necklace has one surprise bead. The strand is 30" long giving a 14" hang.
