This string game was handmade by Charles Nganga of Nakuru, Kenya.  While we were at his home he brought them out.  They were quite popular about 10 years ago and he had a few of them left.  The puzzle can kep you occupied for quite some time. 

The object is to remove the string while the ends are held.  A partner holds the ends of the string, or you can tie them onto a door knob or chair rail.  By working the string around and through, it CAN be removed without using the ends.  It really can.  But it will take you a while to figure it out.

Then after you figure out how to get the string off, you can try to replace it for the next person.
