This is a traditional piece of simple Maasai Jewelry.  10 strands of wire are beaded in pattern.  The collar measures 15 1/2".   Front and center is a 1" button connected tot he collar with a beaded wire extension with a 1 1/2" "jingle" pendant.  These discs of metal are used often by the Maasai.  When the women are dressed their best, they wear many collars and necklaces with jingles.  Each woman jingles according to the rythmn of her walk.  When they gather together music is made and when they dance- it is a percussion symphony!
