A well worn leather harness wraps around the bottom of the container with long straps some of which still extend from the harness and are used to hold the container to the blanket wrap when walking or hang from the pole rafters when at home. 

Made for use and well used, this container comes complete with remants of its contents on the leather, the odor of its usual contents, wood ash and milk, the leather it was made from and a bit of its previous owner. It is beautiful with a well worn patina and still very serviceable with no holes. A wonderful museum or collection piece.
