Lake Victoria in Africa became overrun with water Hyacinth. typical of resourceful Africans, they discovered many ways to use the Water Hyacinth that was choking their water ways. After beating out the fibers, they can hand produce cordage and make several useful items such as this lampshade.

This lamp shade is 9" tall and 27" in circumference at the widest point. There is a 1 1/2 " drop from the top of the lamp to the circular bulb holder. This is the type of lamp shade that sits onto the lamp around the bulb socket and the bulb is screwed in after the lamp shade is on. They will look best on a hanging lamp.
