Item: Hand Woven Baobab Zippered Purse Expertly woven from the fibers of the baobab tree, this high quality bag is approximately 9" deep and 10" inches wide. The baobab has a rolled hem at the top. It has a 1" stitched leather trim with an 8" zipper. The leather shoulder strap is approximately 45" long made of 3/4" leather and is woven into the bag. Our Baobab Weavers are from Tsheikuru, Kenya. The ladies harvest the baobab bark, prepare the cordage and weave the bags. The unfinished bags are then sold and transported to Nairobi for finishing.Read about their story in our artists section or click this link.
