One of these banana fiber and palm bags is a unique accessory sure to draw attention.  Each is made in Western Kenya of banana fiber.  The banana leaves are dried and stripped of their inner zylem before being cut into strips and woven into an approximate 5 1/2" x 4 3/4" X 3 1/2" bag.  The edges are bound and the entire bag is lined with fabric which has a sewn pocket to keep your keys, cell phone or other valuables in easy reach.  The long handle is made of hand woven palm leaves backed with fabric. The bag is securely closed with a woven button and loop.
