This is truly wearable art.  It is a 100% unbleached cotton.  The shirt is hand embroidered both front and back.  The front is hand embroidered. The V neck is trimmed with a blanket stitch.  The fronticepiece is 11" X 15" of hand embroidered beautiful Shipibo design. The sleeves are trimmed with embroidery also. A wide combination of stitches is used.

Shipibo design is a mixture of geometric patterns. Although the meaning of the designs has been lost, anthropologists theorize that the designs could be a form of language, or that they represent the twisting rivers and canals.  The Shipibo design seems to be a communal art as one woman could stop her work and another could continue with no disruption in the pattern.  

On the back of this shirt is a 18" x 19"  hand embroidered art panel.  This is not only wearable art but frameable art.  When you have finished wearing this shirt, frame it!

Hand wash with gentle cleanser and line dry.  Iron with steam.
