Item: Traditional Peruvian Headwear This is an elegant traditional Shipibo headwear. It is made from 100% hand spun and hand woven cotton. The loom is a traditional hand made loom. The designs are completely unique to the weaver. Each is a unique item. The Shipibo traditionally bound babies heads so they would have a coveted flatter forehead. This headwear was designed to accent the beauty of the formed head. They are still worn ceremonially. The band is 22" in circumference and 4" wide. The "tail" is 19" long and 2 1/2" wide.
