Yatta South Women's Group is an effort by rural women to improve the quality of their lives through viable economic activities. The group was established in 1986 through the merging of 31 smaller groups with a total membership of 1,450 women.
The main activity for the group is handicraft production using traditional skills. The group's business center at Katangi acts as the main collection storage and marketing center.
The success of the Yatta South Women's Group has a direct impact on the feeding of families, children's education, family health, clothing and a host of other social and economic needs. |
