Dedan Mugo Karanja was born in Kiambu in 1967. He completed high school in 1987. Unemployment in Kenya is so high he has been unable to locate employment. He began teaching himself artwork for six months practicing on a grain of rice. Now he is an accomplished rice artist. He draws the design of your choice on a grain of rice, encases it a hand blown unique glass globe filled with oil and hangs it on a soft leather thong. His work must be seen to be appreciated.
